Design The Nexus One has a 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen. The main access features on the phone are in the form of soft keys (touch) just below the screen. These include Back, Home, Menu and Search buttons. On the top left corner there is a power button, on the left side a volume control, and below the soft keys there is a clickable trackball. The phone has a 5 mega pixel camera including a 2x zoom and LED flash. Video and photos can both be captured. The device features a 3.5 mm head phone jack and speakers. The Nexus One utilises a Qualcomm QSD 8250 1GZ processor. Usability and Functionality The Nexus One uses Android Mobile Technology as its operating system. Currently (time of release) the device uses Android 2.1. This software is similar in many ways to other phones previously released. It is designed to be very simple and easy to use, like the iPhone, but with the added feature of customisation. Up to five home screens are available at one time and these can be filled with apps and widgets. |
